What a useful kitchen slip has on it
The slip needs the table or token, the time, and each item with a quantity. "Meal" is not an order when one table wanted an extra and the other did not. Extras are where the money is, and they are the line a shout drops.
W8R prints that slip on the 80mm thermal printer you already have. The same order is the guest bill, so the pass and the counter are not keeping two lists. When the guest adds a dish, print again for that addition instead of hoping the cook heard it.
Live tickets, not a pile of paper only
Paper still matters in a loud kitchen. The screen matters when a ticket is buried. W8R shows the open kitchen orders, with the items and a way to mark one ready. The counter can see a token board for what is waiting and what can be handed over.
This is not a separate machine you have to buy from us. It is the kitchen view of the order the counter already took. Billing is the other half, on the restaurant billing software page.
Where it is used
Cook from the slip and the live ticket. The table number stays attached to the dish.
A token board shows which order is ready to hand over and which is still waiting.
An extra chai or a dessert is a new slip on the same table, not a correction shouted across the room.
Questions
Do I need a new printer?
No. Print KOT slips on the 80mm thermal printer you already have.
Can the kitchen see orders without walking to the counter?
Yes. Open tickets stay on the kitchen screen until they are marked ready. The printed slip is still there for the pass.
Does a Swiggy order appear in the kitchen by itself?
No. Mark the order as Swiggy, Zomato, or another source yourself. Then it shows with the other tickets.
