Where restaurant bills go wrong
The usual miss is not the maths. It is the item that was added after the first ticket, the price that changed last week and is still on the board, or the parcel that was shouted and never written. The guest argues with a total that the cashier cannot defend.
W8R bills from the order list. Change the menu price yourself and the next bill uses it. Add a QR that carries the bill amount, so the payment matches the paper. Cash, UPI, and card stay separate when you look at the day.
The bill and the kitchen slip are one order
Printing only the guest bill leaves the kitchen on memory. W8R prints the KOT slip from the same order, on the same kind of 80mm printer. If the guest adds a dish, it goes on that table and can be printed again for the pass. The KOT page is the kitchen half of this.
You can run the billing screen on a phone at the table, a tablet at the counter, or a computer in the corner. The device does not change the bill. The order does.
Where it is used
Stop rebuilding the bill from memory when three guests ask at once. The open order is the bill.
Update the item yourself. The next bill uses the new price. You do not wait for someone to visit the restaurant.
