The host should not guess which table is free. W8R shows each table as free, busy, or settling, and the next order from that table stays on the same bill.

Free, busy, and still settling
A table that looks empty can still have an unpaid bill. Seating the next guests onto it mixes two checks. W8R keeps three states you can see at a glance: free, occupied with a running amount, and settling. The amount on an open table is the order so far, not a handwritten chit at the pass.
Number the room once, including a patio or a pavement table. Two tables both called "2" will send the kitchen slip to the wrong guests. The software will not invent that distinction for you.
The second order stays on the same table
Dessert, another round, a packed parcel for one person at a table of four: these are the lines that become a second bill by accident. In W8R you add the new order to the same table. The kitchen can still get a slip for the addition. The guest gets one bill.
The floor view works on a phone while you are walking the room, or on a tablet at the host stand. Billing and kitchen slips for that table are the same order, described on the POS page.
Where it is used
See a free table without walking the room, and do not seat onto a bill that is still open.
Keep every addition on one table so the final bill is the whole evening, not three separate tickets.
Settling is not the same as free. Clear it when the bill is done, then seat the queue.

Can I see which tables are free?
Yes. Tables show as free, busy, or settling, with the running amount on an open table.
Can I add food to a table that already ordered?
Yes. Add the new order to the same table. It stays on that bill, and the kitchen can get a slip for the addition.
Does this need a computer at the door?
No. Open the floor on a phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.
