Table management for restaurants in Fort
Updated 25 October 2026
W8R is restaurant billing and table software for Fort, Mumbai. It is one product for the city, used on a phone, tablet, or computer. This page is about how a restaurant around Horniman Circle, Ballard Estate, and DN Road actually runs, and where orders, bills, and tables usually slip.
A restaurant day in Fort
Fort is a weekday restaurant belt. Banks, courts, and shipping offices send people between 1 and 3. Many orders are the same lunch plate, taken for a table and also packed for someone who cannot sit. Evenings are quieter except in the cafes that stay open after the offices shut.
Where the day breaks
Handwritten tickets start to look identical when twenty plates are the same. Parcel orders and dine-in orders share one notebook, so the kitchen cooks a sitting for a guest who already left with a dabba, or packs food that a table is waiting for.
One fix on the floor
Give parcels a token, not a table number, before the lunch bell. Print the kitchen slip as soon as the order is confirmed so the pass is not waiting for a verbal repeat in the noisiest half hour.
How W8R fits Fort
A Fort counter can run W8R on a phone or a small laptop. Tables show as free or busy, parcels stay on the order list, and you can see which lunch items actually sold when the offices go back to work.
The same screen prints the guest bill and the kitchen slip on the 80mm thermal printer you already have. The QR on the bill can carry the bill amount, so the guest pays the figure on the paper. You change menu prices yourself. You can see what sold for a day, a week, a month, or dates you pick. If you also sell on Swiggy or Zomato, you mark that order yourself. It does not arrive from those apps on its own.
Who it suits here
Around Horniman Circle, Ballard Estate, and DN Road, the usual rooms are office lunch rooms, thali restaurants, and cafes. If your outlet is closer to Churchgate, read the notes for Churchgate as well. The product is the same. The rush is not.
W8R will not correct a price you typed wrong, and it will not replace a cook. It keeps the order, the table, the slip, and the payment in one list so the close is not a memory test.
