Restaurant billing software in Colaba
Updated 25 October 2026
W8R is restaurant billing and table software for Colaba, Mumbai. It is one product for the city, used on a phone, tablet, or computer. This page is about how a restaurant around Colaba Causeway, the Gateway of India, and Regal Circle actually runs, and where orders, bills, and tables usually slip.
A restaurant day in Colaba
Colaba restaurants serve people walking down from the Gateway, Causeway shoppers, and regulars who already know the menu. Rooms are often small, with tables outside on a busy weekend. Cafe plates, seafood, and all-day snacks sit on the same bill. A waiter covering the pavement and the inside room can lose which order belongs to which table.
Where the day breaks
A quiet afternoon becomes a full room without warning. A handwritten kitchen note then misses an item, and the bill does not match what was served. Card, cash, and UPI land at the counter while the table is still waiting for the total.
One fix on the floor
Number the pavement tables the same way you number indoor tables. Print the kitchen slip with that number before the runner leaves. When the guest asks for the bill, the QR amount should already be the total on the paper, not a rounded guess.
How W8R fits Colaba
W8R takes the order, prints the bill and the KOT, and shows which tables are free. You change a price yourself when a special ends. At close you can see cash and UPI side by side, which matters when one-time guests and regulars pay differently.
The same screen prints the guest bill and the kitchen slip on the 80mm thermal printer you already have. The QR on the bill can carry the bill amount, so the guest pays the figure on the paper. You change menu prices yourself. You can see what sold for a day, a week, a month, or dates you pick. If you also sell on Swiggy or Zomato, you mark that order yourself. It does not arrive from those apps on its own.
Who it suits here
Around Colaba Causeway, the Gateway of India, and Regal Circle, the usual rooms are cafes, seafood restaurants, and all-day diners. If your outlet is closer to Fort, read the notes for Fort as well. The product is the same. The rush is not.
W8R will not correct a price you typed wrong, and it will not replace a cook. It keeps the order, the table, the slip, and the payment in one list so the close is not a memory test.
