KOT slips and billing for restaurants in Grant Road
Updated 25 October 2026
W8R is restaurant billing and table software for Grant Road, Mumbai. It is one product for the city, used on a phone, tablet, or computer. This page is about how a restaurant around Grant Road station and the theatre stretch actually runs, and where orders, bills, and tables usually slip.
A restaurant day in Grant Road
Grant Road restaurants serve the station, shop staff, and people coming out of shows. Menus are value-led: grills, Chinese, snacks, meals. Service is fast and the room is loud. Cash is still common next to UPI.
Where the day breaks
Orders shouted across the room reach the kitchen without a table number. Two tickets look alike and the wrong plate goes out. The evening close rarely matches the first cash count because UPI was never tied to a bill.
One fix on the floor
Stop shouting the full order. Print a short slip with the items and the table or token. Count cash against that order list at close, not from memory after the last show crowd.
How W8R fits Grant Road
W8R prints KOT slips and bills, lists orders with how they were paid, and shows the day's cash and UPI. A phone or a cheap laptop at the counter is enough.
The same screen prints the guest bill and the kitchen slip on the 80mm thermal printer you already have. The QR on the bill can carry the bill amount, so the guest pays the figure on the paper. You change menu prices yourself. You can see what sold for a day, a week, a month, or dates you pick. If you also sell on Swiggy or Zomato, you mark that order yourself. It does not arrive from those apps on its own.
Who it suits here
Around Grant Road station and the theatre stretch, the usual rooms are casual restaurants, station eateries, and snack rooms. If your outlet is closer to Mumbai Central, read the notes for Mumbai Central as well. The product is the same. The rush is not.
W8R will not correct a price you typed wrong, and it will not replace a cook. It keeps the order, the table, the slip, and the payment in one list so the close is not a memory test.
