KOT slips and billing for restaurants in Matunga
Updated 25 October 2026
W8R is restaurant billing and table software for Matunga, Mumbai. It is one product for the city, used on a phone, tablet, or computer. This page is about how a restaurant around Matunga station, the South Indian restaurant belt, and Five Gardens actually runs, and where orders, bills, and tables usually slip.
A restaurant day in Matunga
Matunga is known for South Indian dining and a loyal vegetarian crowd. The rhythm is tiffin, meals, and coffee. Regulars notice a wrong extra or a changed price immediately. Lunch turns tables quickly, and many plates look the same on the pass.
Where the day breaks
Handwritten tickets blur when every table ordered a meal. One wanted ghee or an extra, the other did not. The kitchen sends one pattern to both. The regular is the person who catches it.
One fix on the floor
Write the extra on the kitchen slip, not only on the bill. "Meal" is not enough when the tables differ by one item.
How W8R fits Matunga
W8R prints the item list on the KOT so the kitchen sees the extra. You can change a price yourself, and you can see which plates sold today.
The same screen prints the guest bill and the kitchen slip on the 80mm thermal printer you already have. The QR on the bill can carry the bill amount, so the guest pays the figure on the paper. You change menu prices yourself. You can see what sold for a day, a week, a month, or dates you pick. If you also sell on Swiggy or Zomato, you mark that order yourself. It does not arrive from those apps on its own.
Who it suits here
Around Matunga station, the South Indian restaurant belt, and Five Gardens, the usual rooms are South Indian restaurants, vegetarian dining, and tiffin rooms. If your outlet is closer to Dadar, read the notes for Dadar as well. The product is the same. The rush is not.
W8R will not correct a price you typed wrong, and it will not replace a cook. It keeps the order, the table, the slip, and the payment in one list so the close is not a memory test.
