Delivery

Mark Swiggy and Zomato orders beside dine-in

A kitchen that cooks for the room and for riders will favour whichever voice is louder, unless both orders are tickets.

The mix-up on the pass

Lokhandwala, Kandivali, Powai, and plenty of other Mumbai kitchens now plate a dine-in table and a delivery bag in the same minute. If the delivery order lives in a staff chat and the table order is verbal, one of them is late. The rider leaves with the table's food, or the guest waits while three bags go out.

Owners then cannot see which side made the day's money, because one side is in an app they do not control and the other side was never written down.

What W8R does, and what it does not

W8R does not connect to Swiggy or Zomato by itself. Orders do not drop in from those apps automatically. You, or your counter, mark an order as Zomato, Swiggy, or another source. Once you enter it, the kitchen sees it with your other tickets, and the sales you entered include it.

That is a manual step on purpose. It is not a live integration. If nobody types the order, the cook still does not have a slip. The gain is one list, not a promise that the apps are linked.

Do not expect app orders to appear on their own. Type the ticket, with the source marked, before the rider is at the door.

A practical queue

Chat is a poor kitchen system. Move the order onto a slip before you accept the next one. W8R is that slip list. Your dine-in tables stay visible even when the delivery queue is long.

  • Dine-in slips carry a table number
  • Delivery slips carry the source and the guest name or token
  • Parcels for a nearby building are not given a dine-in table
  • Once an hour, look at which side is waiting and tell the kitchen which ticket is next

Keep dine-in protected

Decide a simple priority before the rush and stick to it. Many rooms cook dine-in first when the guest is seated, and batch delivery tickets every few minutes. The point is not the rule. The point is that both are visible, so the cook is not guessing which shout was newer.

At the end of the day, your W8R sales will show the orders you typed, including the ones you marked as Swiggy or Zomato. They will not show an app order nobody entered. That gap is useful. It tells you the tickets the kitchen never officially received.
