Run restaurant billing on a phone, tablet, or computer

The right device is the one your staff will actually hold during the rush. For many outlets that is a phone, not a back-office PC.

Why the computer in the back room fails

A lot of small restaurants have a computer. It is in a room the cashier leaves when the queue starts. Orders go back to memory the moment the owner walks to the pass. A system that needs a desk will be abandoned at the exact hour you bought it for.

Night staff and weekend staff have the same problem. The senior cashier knows the desktop. The person covering Juhu on a Sunday night, or a station counter at lunch, has a phone in their pocket and no training on a heavy terminal.

Pick the device to match the counter

Printing still needs a printer. W8R prints bills and KOT slips on the 80mm thermal printer you already have. You do not have to buy a new printer from W8R to start. The screen can be any of the devices above.

W8R works on a mobile, tablet, laptop, or desktop. The job is the same on each: take the order, print the slip, print the bill, see the tables, see the day. A second outlet with a different counter shape does not need a different product.

It will not compensate for a dead phone battery or a printer with no paper. Charge the device before service, and keep the printer where the bill is handed over, not in a cupboard.

Set the counter up before the rush

Charge the phone, log in, and print one test slip before the first guest. A dead battery at 1:30pm is how outlets go back to paper for the only hour that mattered.

If two people bill, decide which device is the counter and which is only for taking a table order. Two people editing two different notebooks was the old problem. Two unsynced habits on two phones will recreate it. One order list, even if the tablet moves around the room.
